چکیده

Despite technical refinements of the 120 W lithium-triborate laser fiber degradation and significantly decreased power output are still detectable during the procedure. Laser fibers are not fully appropriate for the high power delivery of the new system. There is still potential for further improvement in the laser performance. Early experience photoselective vaporisation of the prostate using the 180W lithium triborate and comparison with the 120W lithium triborate laser

PURPOSE There is a paucity of information on the clinical efficacy and safety of the photoselective vaporization (PVP) of the prostate using the 180W lithium triborate (LBO) laser. We report on initial outcomes of PVP with the 180W laser, comparing the first 50 cases with the last 50 cases performed with the 120W LBO laser. METHODS All cases performed by a single surgeon (HHW) have been prosp...

Photoselective vaporization of the prostate with the 120W lithium triborate laser for the treatment of acute urinary retention

PURPOSE Whilst photoselective vaporization of the prostate (PVP) is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, there is little reported about its performance in urinary retention. The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GreenLight™ high performance system 120W lithium triborate laser (American Medical Systems, Inc, Minnetonka, MN) PVP in men with urinary retention...

GreenLight 180W XPS photovaporization of the prostate: how I do it.

Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is the most common surgical intervention for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), largely due to lower urinary tract symptoms refractory to medical therapy. TURP remains the gold standard for men with prostates sized 30g-80g, while open prostatectomy has been the preferred option for men with glands larger than 80g-100 g and those with other lower u...

Greenlight laser vaporization versus transurethral resection of the prostate for the treatment of benign prostatic obstruction: evidence from randomized controlled studies

tau.amegroups.com © Translational Andrology and Urology. All rights reserved. Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is almost always regarded as the standard in the surgical treatment for benign prostatic obstruction (BPO). However, TURP is not uncommonly associated with perioperative morbidities, which are directly related to prostate volume and surgically high-risk patients with asso...

Application of the Modified Clavien Classification System to 120W Greenlight High-Performance System Photoselective Vaporization of the Prostate for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: Is It Useful for Less-Invasive Procedures?

PURPOSE To evaluate the accuracy and applicability of the modified Clavien classification system (CCS) in evaluating complications following photoselective vaporization of the prostate by use of the 120W GreenLight high-performance system (HPS-PVP). MATERIALS AND METHODS The medical records of 342 men who underwent HPS-PVP were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were older than 40 years and h...
